There's an abundance coach living on credit cards, a relationship expert who sleeps alone, a happiness guru on antidepressants, and a success mentor borrowing money for rent. They're teaching what they're seeking, not what they've stabilised, performing wisdom they haven't earned, selling medicine they need themselves, guiding others to destinations they've only seen in visions. This is the unconscious industry's darkest secret. Most coaches are coaching themselves through their clients.

The broke coach teaching wealth isn't lying, he's aspiring, using his students as mirrors to convince himself it's possible, needing their breakthrough to believe in his own, requiring their success to validate his theories. The lonely guru teaching connection isn't fraudulent, he's desperate, creating workshops about intimacy because he can't create it in his own life. Building communities around love because he can't sustain it personally, teaching what he needs most, the anxious healer teaching peace isn't deceptive, they're drowning, guiding meditations while their nervous system screams, preaching presence whilst disassociated from their body, selling calm they've never tasted. They think because they understand it intellectually that they can teach it because they've read about it extensively they can guide it because they've experienced it momentarily, they can transmit it.

But knowing about swimming doesn't keep you from drowning, understanding nutrition doesn't make you healthy, reading about alignment doesn't make you awakened and teaching what you haven't stabilized and synthesized is violence, not intentional violence, unconscious violence. The violence of blind leading the blind the drowning teaching swimming, the lost giving directions. Your abundance coach should have abundance not someday, right now, not in potential but in bank accounts, not in vision boards in reality. Your relationship coach should have relationship long term relationship not past tense, present tense, not in theory, in daily practice, not in workshops, in each isolated night.

After 20 years, your peace teacher should be peaceful not performing peace but embodying it, not in guided meditations, in traffic jams, in the chaos of life, in conflict, not in retreat only. But the consciousness industry runs on aspiration, not embodiment, on potential not presence, on promise, not proof, because embodied teachers are rare and desperate students are infinite. So the market fills with performers with insp- so the market fills with performers with aspires with people teaching their wounds, not their wisdom. The coach charging for transformation he hasn't completed, the healers selling, healing she hasn't received.

The guide offering guidance to territory he's never walked. They're not evil, they're innocent, innocent of the violence they're creating, innocent of the confusion they're spreading, innocent of the delay they're causing. Because you can't give what you don't have, you can't transmit what you haven't stabilized, you can't guide where you haven't yet arrived. The broke coach's abundance course will teach you poverty patterns disguised as prosperity principles, the lonely guru's love workshop will transmit isolation wrapped in intimacy language, the anxious healers peace programme will embed chaos beneath calming techniques, because frequency doesn't lie even when words do, even when intentions are pure, even when the techniques are perfect, the transmission is always true and you're always transmitting what you are, not what you teach, not what you aspire to be.

If your coach isn't living what they're teaching, you're not learning what you think you're learning, you're absorbing their seeking, their aspiration, their performance, not their mastery because they don't have mastery, they have hope and hope isn't teaching, hope is wishing. The real teachers, the ones worth learning from, teach from overflow, not absence, from embodiment, not aspiration, from what they've become, not what they're becoming, but don't yet embody. They don't need your breakthrough because they've had their own, they don't need your success because they have their own, they don't need your transformation because theirs is already completed. Find those teachers, they're rare, they're usually quiet, they're never desperate and they'll never teach you what they haven't lived.
