Why can you do everything manifestation asks of you and still wake up in the same life? I keep seeing the phrase "the science of manifestation" on book covers and course pages, so I went looking for the science. I spent twenty years in the chair as a therapist with people who would have done anything that worked, and if the research were there, I'd want to know.

In this episode I take the claims one at a time: the quantum observer effect, "raise your vibration", the water crystals and the heart's field, then the real psychology manifestation leans on, which is attention, expectation, placebo and planning. All of it that holds up works through what you do. You'll hear what Gabriele Oettingen found when people picture the future they want, what a 2023 study found about the people who believe in manifestation, and why I once taught affirmations myself. Then I show you the question manifestation never asks, which is what wrote the thought in the first place, and why it promises you the thing without the sacrifice.
