People Pleasing: Saying Yes When Everything In You Means No
You say no with your mouth and yes with your hands. And you call it love.
20 years sitting across from people, and this is the thing I have watched walk through the door more than anything else. Not as a problem. As a virtue. The giving, the managing, the reading of every room, the quiet daily betrayal of yourself that you have dressed up as kindness and being a good person.
This one is about self-abandonment. Why you say yes when everything in you means no. Why you replay every conversation on the drive home and end up furious at yourself. And the part almost no one dares to name: when you only ever bring the managed, guarded, acceptable version of you, the people who love you are in a relationship with someone you invented. Which means you cannot be known. And you can never quite trust the love, because it was aimed at a performance.
It is not a comfortable watch. It is not meant to be. It is meant to be the thing you recognise.
If you want to see the exact shape of yours, the Atlas is free. A written passage that names the pattern running under your life, in a single sitting. No cost.
A note: this is reflection, not therapy or crisis support. If you are really struggling right now, please reach out to someone local who can help.
This is one transmission. The Atlas takes your own pattern and shows you the structure underneath it, free.
