from the architects Codex, a quote from against nuance, the portrayal of clarity. I'll try two words that have destroyed more relationships, businesses and lives than any declaration of war. Because I'll try sounds like commitment, but contains none. It sounds like effort, but promises nothing.

It sounds like agreement, but includes total deniability. It's the perfect verbal crime. If they succeed, they claim credit. If they fail, they only promised to try.

Either way, they can't be held accountable. When you accept I'll try, instead of asking for a yes or a no, you've entered a contract with a ghost. You're building on ground that was never there. So stop accepting the language of escape.

I'll try isn't effort. That's the architecture of future disappointment designed in advance.
