from the architects Codex a quote from before approaching the threshold What changes architecture is not technique it is seeing Not seeing is understanding, but seeing is direct perception of the structure itself There's a difference between knowing you are in a room and seeing the walls of the room Now you can know intellectually that you were shaped by your childhood you can know that your parents influenced you you can know that Your patterns don't serve you, but this knowing changes exactly nothing It's information about the architecture viewed from inside the architecture using Cognitive tools that are themselves products of the architecture Seeing is different seeing is when the walls become visible as walls When what you took to be reality is suddenly revealed as construction and so in that moment the architecture Loses its invisibility.
