From the architect's Codex, a quote from against nuance, the betrayal of clarity. Nuance is not sophistication. It's cowardice dressed in intellectual clothing. Every time someone says it's complicated, this is someone avoiding a decision.
Every time they say both sides have valid points, this is someone refusing to take a position. Every time someone says we need to consider all perspectives, this is someone terrified of being held accountable for a clear stance. We've been taught to worship ambiguity, to see the person who hedges as thoughtful, and the person who commits as rigid. This is exactly backwards.
The person adding qualifiers isn't being precise, they're being evasive. They're making sure they can never be wrong because they never actually said anything of note. Sophistication isn't hiding in complexity, it's making the complex clear.
