Codex Fragment 3

From the architects Codex a quote from before approaching the threshold. The personal development industry sold you scaffolding and told you it was the building. It gave you techniques to manage the surface while leaving the foundation untouched. It told you to think different thoughts without asking why the old thoughts even exist in the first place.

Scaffolding is the temporary structure erected during construction. It's useful. It's necessary. But it is not the building.

When construction is complete scaffolding is removed. What remains is the architecture that will stand for decades. You've been redecorating the scaffolding, painting it, rearranging it, adding new sections while the building beneath remains unexamined, untouched, unknown. These surface level techniques were never going to be enough.

An industry that solves your problem is an industry that loses a customer.
