A crucible is the vessel the alchemists used to burn away everything impure, and the most sacred work of a human life happens inside one. That work is the burning away of everything about us that is without truth, which means the beliefs we inherited and everything we were told to think, to feel, and even how to be.

What the fire leaves is ash, and that ash is the only foundation a self can truly be built upon.
