From the architects codex a quote from the accountability problem Accountability is not a technique for improving performance. It's the mechanism through which reality is constructed Every moment you're building not metaphorically, but literally you're building the structure. You will inhabit tomorrow Now this reframes everything you've been taught Because accountability isn't about discipline or willpower or holding yourself to standard someone else created It's architectural every choice is a brick every avoided choice is also a brick Just one you didn't choose consciously the building goes up either way The only question is whether you're the architect or just the inhabitant of whatever gets constructed by default Most people are living in buildings.
