from the architects codecs are quote from the accountability problem. The question is not, how do I hold myself accountable? The question is, what have I built that makes accountability necessary? When the architecture is right, discipline becomes irrelevant, the structure does the work.
Now consider this, you don't need discipline to breathe, you don't need accountability systems to make your heartbeat, the architecture handles it. Now consider, why do you need so much discipline for things that supposedly matter to you? Why do you need elaborate accountability systems for goals you claim to want? That's because there's a mismatch.
The conscious goal contradicts the unconscious architecture. You're trying to use willpower to override structure. The masters don't have more willpower, they have better architecture. They've built environments, systems and internal structures where the desired behavior is the path of least resistance.
Stop trying to be more disciplined and start building better structures.
